The Heard County School System hosted its grand opening ceremony for the new GPAC on Sunday afternoon. The festivities were kicked off with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Separate dedication ceremonies were held in the Performing Arts Center and the Gym. The high school chorus opened the ceremony by singing the national anthem. Board of Education chairman, Roger Harrod, addressed the crowd in the PAC and Athletic Director, Shane Lasseter, addressed the crowd in the Gymnasium. The highlight of the afternoon was the gym floor dedication. The Heard County BOE honored long-time employee, Edward Potts, by naming the court in his honor. The HCSS would like to thank the community for their support of this project. The first event for students will be Wednesday, January 12th at 6:00 pm. The PAC will host the annual fall athletics banquet. We hope to see you at an upcoming event!
